TrueCommerce Home allows vendors to upload inventory information to retailers so that item availability and quantities remain accurate. Vendors can upload inventory using different methods depending on their workflow and inventory size.
This article explains how to upload inventory using the comma separated values (CSV) inventory feed method and what happens after a successful upload.
Inventory Upload Methods Overview
There are multiple ways to upload inventory into the TrueCommerce Home portal. The most commonly-recommended method is uploading a CSV inventory file. This method provides vendors with visibility into upload results and confirmation that the inventory feed was successfully processed.
How to Upload Inventory Using a CSV File
First and foremost, you must have a .csv Inventory Masterfile before uploading the Inventory. Then, update your Masterfile to the current date and ensure all information for Inventory is correct. Next, select File > Save As, and save the Masterfile as a .csv file.
To upload a. csv Inventory Masterfile to Retailer Portal, perform the following steps:
Select the Retailer Portal menu.
The Items Uploads tab is displayed by default.
Do the following:
Check the box of the applicable Retailer.
Select the Vendor Code, if known.
Click the Choose File button, then select the .csv Inventory Masterfile.
Click the Upload button.
NOTE: Each inventory upload is retailer- and vendor-code specific.
A notification of a successful inventory upload will appear once the file has been loaded. Items successfully loaded can be viewed under the Item Upload History tab.
TIP: Contact TrueCommerce Home Support with any questions or if you receive an error message and need help with resolution.
If the inventory file uploads successfully, the Item Upload History section will appear in the portal showing:
Upload Type
Retailer Name
Upload Date
Item Count
User Name
This section also confirms that the inventory feed has been received and processed by the system.
Where Uploaded Inventory Appears Next
After a successful upload, a detailed breakdown of the loaded items becomes available in the Inventory Management section. This allows vendors to review and manage the most recent inventory data that was uploaded.
Best Practices
Using the CSV upload method is strongly recommended, especially if you want confirmation that inventory was successfully sent.
A detailed walkthrough for creating and uploading inventory files is available in TrueCommerce documentation.
