Product: TrueCommerce Home (for Vendor)

TrueCommerce Home supports multiple label workflows depending on each retailer’s requirements. As a vendor, it is important to understand which type of label is required by each retailer and when labels should be printed, from the Purchase Order (PO), from the Advance Shipping Notice (ASN), or using information from both.

During onboarding, the TrueCommerce Services team will clearly define and train the vendor on how each retailer requires labels. This article explains the supported label types and walks you through how to print labels in the TrueCommerce Home portal.

Types of Labels Supported in TrueCommerce Home

There are three ways for retailers to request printing labels:

Each retailer specifies which option they require. Vendors connected to multiple retailers may need to follow different label processes for each one.

How to Print Labels?

Print Labels from a PO

Some retailers include all required barcode or tag information directly on the PO. This allows vendors to print labels immediately from the PO.

Do the following:

  1. Click the Document Management menu.

  2. Click on the PO number hyperlink to open the PO in which labels are needed to be printed for.

  3. Once the PO has been opened, click on Print Labels on the left-hand menu.

  4. Click on the desired label template, and your labels will be printed as a PDF.

  5. You will need to take note of the serial numbers that are going to be utilized. This information will be needed when completing the ship notice.

NOTE:

  • When a retailer provides labeling information on the purchase order, each unit quantity on the order is assigned a unique Tag ID.

  • Users must carefully track which labels are printed and in what quantities, ensuring that labels are not duplicated during the printing process.

  • Printing a label does not remove it from the system. The TrueCommerce Home portal allows users to reprint labels at any time if needed.

  • The available label templates are determined by each retailer’s specific requirements and the options they have enrolled in with TrueCommerce Home.

Print Labels While Building an ASN

Other retailers require labels to be generated as part of the ASN creation process. This allows labels to be associated with a specific shipment.

Do as follows:

  1. Click the Document Management menu.

  2. Click the DocNum link of the live PO from which you want to create an ASN.

  3. On the PURCHASE ORDER screen, click the Build Shipment button.

  4. On the SHIP NOTICE screen, fill out the form.

Note: The required fields are marked with a red asterisk (*).

  5. When you are finished filling out the form, click the Add PO(s) button on the upper-left corner of the screen.

  6. On the next screen, do the following:

    1. Review all items included in the shipment.

    2. Ensure all items that will ship together are listed.

    3. Remove any items that will not be part of the same shipment.

    4. If applicable, add other POs with the same ship-to address.

  7. Click the Create Barcodes option after you make sure that all items are going to be on the shipment.

    NOTE:

    • The system will generate unique serial numbers. Labels are automatically created and linked to the ASN.

    • If shipping or tracking details are incomplete, click Save for Later. The ASN will appear with an “S” status in Document Management, indicating it has been saved but not yet sent to the retailer.

    • Once final shipping information is available, reopen the saved ASN, update the details, and click Send Now.

  8. After an ASN is created or saved, do the following:

    1. Open the ASN from Document Management by clicking Y under the ASN column.

      The ASN is displayed.

    2. On the Ship Notice screen, click the Print Labels option.

    3. On the new pop-up, select PO(s) for Labels.

    4. Then, click Submit.

Print Labels using both PO and ASN information

For this case, the retailer sends the tag ID information onto the PO and then expects the vendor to send the ASN back with the tag ID one.

Do the following:

  1. The retailer sends Tag ID or RFID information on the PO.

  2. The vendor opens the PO in the TrueCommerce Home portal and prints labels directly from the PO as needed.

  3. When building the ASN, repeat steps from 3-5 in the Print Labels While Building an ASN section.

  4. On the next screen, carefully manage which items belong to each shipment by doing as follows:

    1. Click Edit to manage shipment items.

    2. Add additional POs if required.

  5. Then, select RFID from PO.

  6. Review each line item and select the correct Tag ID or serial number for the shipment.

The selected Tag IDs are added to the ASN and sent back to the retailer.

  7. Submit the ASN by clicking Send Now.

Key Reminders

  • Label requirements vary by retailer.

  • Always confirm which label method applies before printing.

  • Saved ASNs must be updated and sent once final shipping details are available.

  • Incorrect item-to-shipment or tag-to-ASN matching may cause retailer compliance issues.

Conclusion

TrueCommerce Home provides flexible labeling options to support the unique requirements of each retailer. Whether labels are printed directly from the Purchase Order or generated during the ASN process, understanding the correct workflow ensures accurate shipments and compliance with retailer standards.
